TUNISIA 6-DAY JOURNEY & OASES TOUR
Assembly at the airport. Flight to Tunis. Arrival at Carthage airport, where we will meet with our local representatives. Tour of the city of Tunis, where we will visit the fishing village of Sidi Bou Said, the ruins of Ancient Carthage and of course, the city's bazaar. Transfer to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will depart early in the morning for El Gem to see its renowned Colosseum where gladiator contests and sacrifices of the first Christians of Africa took place. From there we head out to Gabes (the seaside oasis known for its henna plantations) via the commercial port of Sfax. Leisure time for shopping in Jara, before we leave for Matmata, the land of the Troglodytes and the Berbers, where we will visit a traditional dwelling. Lunch at a local hotel. Arrival in the evening at the Douz oasis, the gateway of the Sahara Desert, known for its grand camelriding festival. We recommend a camel ride in the desert. Arrival at our hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast we will cross the salt water lake of Chott El Jerid, a body of water which is of great scientific interest (here you can buy the famous desert roses), towards Tozeur, the largest and most important city in Southern Tunisia, renowned for its endless palm tree oases. Next we visit Medina (the old city), the souks and the wonderful Folklore Museum. After lunch, we visit the Nefta oasis, otherwise called the "basket". Dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast we set out on our trip by a 4x4 vehicle to the mountain oases of Chebika, Tamerza and Mides, which are located close to the Algerian border, as well as a visit to the ancient Roman provinces with their springs, waterfalls and moon canyons (the location where the films "The English Patient" and "Star Wars" were filmed). Next we go to Gafsa and Kairouan, where we will tour the town and stroll thorough the market, where the purchase of a Kairouan carpet is a ritual. Don't forget to try makrud, a traditional sweet made with dates. Departure for Sousse for dinner and overnight stay.
Today we will go on a tour of the Cape Bon area, a place that has been greatly influenced by Mediterranean cultures and has well-developed seaside resorts, such as Kelibia and Kerkouane. We will also visit Nabel, the Latin Neapolis, which is a town that has flourished due to its craftwork, specifically its earthenware and baskets. Dinner and overnight stay in Hammamet.
Breakfast and departure for the airport to take our flight back to Athens.

Sousse - Port El Kadaoui
Our sixth day is dedicated to the seaside town of Sousse, which was a commercial center of the Phoenicians. Visitors can admire by its charming features and its modern tourist facilities. Next we will visit Port El Kadaoui, which is a famous port, built in the middle of a Tunisian village. The area possesses a sports center that includes a golf course, tennis courts and a underwater fishing and water sports center. Dinner and overnight stay.
Tunis - Bardo - Carthage
After breakfast, we will visit the Bardo Museum, where we will see a large collection of mosaics. Next, we will visit the ancient city of Carthage, where visitors will have free time to roam through the souks and the bazaars before we depart for our hotel in Hammamet. Dinner and overnight stay.
Tunis - Athens
Breakfast and departure for the airport to take our flight back to Athens.
