Lebanon resembles a land from a fantasy world, as if it is floating between the sky and earth. On the west is the Mediterranean Sea, while on the east there are two parallel mountain ranges.

Despite its small size, Lebanon is known for its wonderful contrasts, lovely climate, natural beauty and rich historical background.

Between the deep blue sea and the snowcapped mountains are lush and barren areas, where rivers, waterfalls, forests, valleys, vineyards and gardens exist.

Due to its natural beauty and its important geographical location, Lebanon has always attracted people from different civilizations who left their mark on the appearance and culture of the country, contributing to the unique architectural style of the monuments.

Here visitors can find Phoenician graves lying at the feet of Greek and Roman temples, while Byzantine monasteries stand next to Mamluk Mosques.

Lebanon is especially famous for its cuisine, which reflects the traditions of its people. Visitors will be amazed at the quantity of dishes and the variety of flavors that are offered to them by the warm and hospitable residents of Lebanon.

6-DAY TOUR OF LEBANON

day 1
Arrival in Beirut, the "Paris of the East". Transfer to the hotel. Free evening for you to explore this town of beautiful contrasts. Beirut has been destroyed many times and part of it was swallowed by the sea. Each time the city resurrects itself, and even improves itself by adding new features that combine the East and the West. Settle in the hotel and dinner

day 2
After breakfast, we begin our tour at 8:00, with a visit to Byblos, set along the coast, where ruins of an Amorian town are situated around an Acropolis, a Phoenician Temple and a Roman Amphitheater that overlook the Phoenician Royal Necropolis. Unesco has put Byblos on its World Heritage List, owing to its different monuments which show the various cultures that conquered the area throughout history.

We continue with a visit to Tripoli, the capital of the North and the second largest city in Lebanon after Beirut. Here all your senses are heightened. The sound of footsteps on the cobblestone streets are fused with the noise from the inns and the textile workshops. The smell of coffee is mixed with the fragrance of spices. Our next stop is the Grand Mosque and the Castle of Remon which is one of the few castles in the East that retains its original features despite the changes it has undergone throughout its long history. Lunch during the tour. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

day 3
After breakfast, we begin our tour at around 8:00 with a visit to the National Museum of Beirut, where a rare collection of grave stones, sarcophagi and other archaeological findings such as the sarcophagus of King Ahiram on which the first Phoenician alphabet is inscribed, are displayed. In the main hall, there is an Egyptian-style statue that was found in Byblos, as well as a large number of statues of children's heads and other figures that were offerings to the god Asmun.

Afterwards, we visit the Palace of Princes in Beit El Din, which is considered the most significant tourist attraction of Lebanon. It was built in the 19 th century and its construction continued for 30 years. Thousands of visitors come from all over the world to admire its fountains, gardens, marble gates and verandas that are made of wood and glass. Close by, is the Deir El Kamar Acropolis and Musa Castle. Lunch during the tour. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

day 4
Breakfast and departure at 8:00 for Baalbek, the "City of the Gods", one of the most significant archaeological monuments in the world. It was originally a Phoenician city, although its glory was truly recognized when its was conquered by Alexander the Great, who elevated Baalbek to a Heliopolis.

The Temples of Baalbek are separated into three major places of worship. T he first, dedicated to Zeus, is the largest in size, but has retained the least of its original features.

The second, dedicated to Bacchus, is the miracle of miracles. The temple still retains its original form, including a grand staircase that leads to its entrance, decorated with fairies and mythological gods. The third, located at a short distance from the other two, is dedicated to Aphrodite. The temple is round and is considered a jewel of Roman architecture.

Due to its great archaeological significance, Unesco has included Baalbek in its World Heritage List.

We continue our tour in Ansar, the "City of the Umayyad". The ruins of this ancient town, which are scattered around the Baalbek Shrine, are the remains from the time of the Umayyad, who ruled the area in the 7 th and 8 th centuries. The city was discovered in 1943, buried in the swamps, among grass and stones. Unesco has also included Ansar in its World Heritage List. Lunch break during the tour. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

day 5
After breakfast, we depart at around 8:00 for Sidon and Tyre. Sidon is especially famous for its covered markets, where one can find craftsmen who still perform traditional jobs.

Sidon has known many conquerors: Greeks, Romans, Arabs and Mamelukes. The influence of these groups is apparent in the monuments of the city. We will visit the Sea Castle, which was constructed during the Crusades. Another important monument is Saint Louis Castle.

We arrive in Tyre, a city that is mentioned in the Holy Scriptures. Tyre was under siege by Nebuchadnezzar, while Alexander the Great conquered the city after 7 months of siege.

Today, Tyre retains many of its archaeological monuments from its rich history. On one of its sides, we will visit its Roman, stone-paved town and on its other side we will visit its three-bay monumental arch that dates back to the First Christian Era and its well-preserved Roman Stadium and Hippodrome.

Due to these marvelous sites, Unesco has included Tyre in its World Heritage List. Lunch break during the tour. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

day 6
